Bethany Reynolds and Olivia Britt Win EREC Scholarships

Escambia River Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 Herman D. Johnson Scholarship Awards: Bethany Reynolds for Escambia County and Olivia Britt for Santa Rosa County.
Bethany is the daughter of William and Jane Reynolds. Bethany plans to major in the field of Exercise Science and then get her masters degree in Physical Therapy. In high school, Bethany was the editor of the Northview Yearbook, and served as President of the National Beta Club, Vice-President of the FFA, Secretary of the Student Government Association, and was a member of several additional clubs. She was on the cross country team, track team, girls weight-lifting and dance team. Bethany has also been an active volunteer in her community at the Health and Hope Clinic and the Walnut Hill Fire Department.
Olivia is the daughter of Keith and Lori Britt. She plans to major in the field of biology and mathematics and then continue her education to become an Orthodontist. In high school, Olivia was active in the Royal Pride band serving in positions such as the Leadership Corp., Chaplain, Librarian and Captain. She was also a member of the Senior Beta Club, National Honors Society, Spanish Club, Tri-M Musical Honors Society, and several other clubs as well. Olivia has also been involved in her community by babysitting for several families and serving as a tutor for Algebra I and 7th grade math.
Bethany and Olivia will receive $1,000 each for four years providing they continue to meet the scholarship criteria. The scholarships were presented at the respective schools’ awards programs. Congratulations to Bethany and Olivia. EREC wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
